In this article, you will learn how to optimize the refresh settings of third-party apps on your device.
To access the refresh optimization settings of a third-party app, do the following:
- In Home Screen, go to Apps.
- Long press the app you would like to use.
- Choose Optimize > Refresh.
- Tap the Navigation Ball during the use of a third-party app.
- Tap the App Optimization button.
- Switch to the Refresh tab.
Note: This shows the default setting. The Navigation Ball Settings on your device may vary. Please refer to the Navigation Ball page for more info.
Full Refresh Frequency
Here you can drag the slider or input a value to set the frequency to perform a full refresh based on your actions. The more taps you need, the more ghosting it will accumulate before a full refresh.
Here you can drag the slider or input a value to set the refresh latency after page-turn to filter the page-turn animation.
Full refresh when turning pages
Here you can enable/disable the automatic full refresh after page-turning.

Regal Mode: Regal Mode is a refresh solution with less ghosting and better display quality especially optimized for color E Ink models. It is ideal for page-turn between color illustrations such as in comics and manga apps.
Note: The Refresh Mode of App Optimization will not take effect unless you choose Normal Mode on the system level.
