    I received a message from tech support telling me this was normal and happens sometimes during shipping. Presumably because the Kaleido screens are delicate, or something like that.

    hmmm... that is a very interesting and surprising response from Boox tech support.

    I would think they'd want to ensure users of their latest technology be extremely happy.  It sounds like you are unhappy (I would be a bit upset at their response to be honest).

    I couldn't find anything on their website warning people about this "normal" bright spot caused by shipping.

    If this adversely affects your user experience, I don't think you are out of line to insist that they correct the situation.

    Other people have bought this product and don't have to deal with a bright dot on their screen.  Why should you?

    Just my humble opinion of course.

    Did you send tech support pictures of the issue?

    To give them benefit of the doubt, it doesn't sound like they realize the actual issue?  That dot seems quite bright for sure!
