Tip from Pen Plus stuck in Pen2 pro

Recently I bought a Pen2 Pro as the Pen Plus could not be ordered anymore. After testing the stylus I wanted to use anyway the tip from my Pen Plus, replacing the standard one in the Pen Plus. I assumed they were compatible but that does not seem the case. The tip from the Pen Plus is shorter than the Pen2 Pro. The issue I'm currently having is that the tip has sunk so deeply that I cannot remove it anymore. 

Is there a technique to solve this? I have tried shaking, used tweezers,.. 

Or can I throw this expensive device away...
