"shift" on Boox keyboard for Note 2 not working

The shift key on the Boox Keyboard for Note 2 does not seem to be working. Even when I'm clearly in English mode on my Note 2 (EN enlarged, not CN), when I press "shift" + "/" it does not make a "?"  The same is true when I "shift" + "2"-- it does not make an "@" sign. How can I make it work?
