The 'Shop' for Books seems to be gutenberg.org - so it blocks my IP - Boox Max3
gutenberg.org has some legal trouble in Germany, to which they responded (a few years ago) by blocking all traffic from German IPs - the problem: My Boox Max3 has a 'Shop' on the front page, which leads to something that offers up a lot of old books for free - if i try to download some, it says my ip is blocked, so i surmise that the whole 'Shop' is simply a layer over gutenberg.orgs API.
Is there a way to change the source of the 'Shop' on my Boox? I would like to use that, and there are a lot of other free-book sites.

That sounds like a lot of effort (assuming it's even possible). You can just turn off the store in the settings - it's nothing special anyway - and download ebooks from any place you want. Just go to any ebook site and download the books, either straight on the device or on your computer and then transfer them over.

well, the effort depends on the implemenation. and the shop concept is quite nice. browsing to some site, then downloading it, saving - that is hassle i'd rather miss.
