Poke 2 vertical scroll buttons

While experimenting with my then new Poke 2, I tried out the vertical page scrolling buttons. I now want to get rid of them but cannot. Help please someone.

  One more problem - suddenly, possibly as a result of me trying to correct the other fault, although books are displayed in portrait mode, other app and system pages are in landscape.
