Need to try - Los Angeles Area

I am a 3D Digital Artist, and I have been working in the feature film business for well over 20 years. Because of the nature of production I take a lot of notes in notebooks. Creating content for films - be it a visual effects film or animated feature - is very fluid; the target is constantly moving and as a result I am constantly writing everything down. I have learned that when I think, "Oh, I'll remember that." - I don't!

I have started researching digital alternatives for taking notes the classic way. I love the feel of writing instead of typing. As you can imagine, there are a lot of sketches that are made when making my notes.

I started this endeavor for myself; but then it hit me that it would be fantastic to get everyone that I work with using the same devices. The reasons are pretty clear why and can be summed up with two words, "team communication" -  

I have looked at many different devices and I am leaning towards the Note Air, but am also looking at a different manufacturer. As an artist I would love to get the Max Lumi; but let's be honest - that is well beyond my financial capabilities.

I am writing because I would like to know if there is a Boox office in the Los Angeles area so I may sit down and try the device. I have done a *lot* of research, but using a device is critical. I do not mind driving, even if it is a bit of a drive. I feel it is that important.

It is my hope that me using it will help the company decide to include it into our needed hardware tools to help with communication and overall production.

I am doing this on my own - and for that reason I have to be very careful with my expenditures. As an artist, father and husband that is financially responsible for a family I do not have this amount of money immediately available to spend. I started saving a little bit from each pay period and will do so until I have the required amount. Since I am doing this on my own, I am not going to be approaching the company to have them buy me one. I feel that would be in bad form. 

As I said, I will drive where ever I need to (obviously driving to Chicago is a bit of a stretch - hahahaha) to try it out.

I would really, really prefer to not utilize the 30-day return policy to try it out.

I am sure this post will be met with more than few chuckles; and that is okay - at the end of the day, if I have a tool that is extremely helpful and gets picked up by the company for each of the teams then it is a win-win situation.
