Transfer epub with highlights/annotations between two OnyxBoox e-readers

I have two OnyxBoox e-readers where i am using NeoReader to read and annotate ebooks. Problem is that when I create annotation in a epub in the first eReader i do not know how to move such epub including this annotations/highlights to the second eReader. When i simply copy this epub the annotations are missing. I know about the Export functionality but this feature only creates external txt file. If i copy such exported txt file (including its folder) to the second eReader the epub is still missing the annotations after its opening.
So I am searching for some feature to embed annotations directly inside the epub or find some internal NeoReader file containing the annotations and copy this file with original epub book to the second eReader.

We are afraid that the annotation data of the epub file is not embedded into the file. Therefore, annotations will not be included when copying an epub file to another device. However, we have informed our tech team about this issue and will do our best to improve the software of our device.

This is sorely missing and makes migrations (when upgrading) impossible. We can migrate the annotations since they're PDF files, but when opening the book, importing them doesn't work. On top of that, trying to add notes creates a file with the same name in the same folder (just adding a "(1)" at the end, so it seems not much is missing to make it work.
