Reading Data Syncing

You can sync your reading data, including reading progress, bookmarks, highlights, underlines, annotations, handwritten notes, and reading themes across all your BOOX devices. The annotated contents can be viewed and shared on our send2boox websites and BOOX Assistant app. In this article, you will learn more about reading data syncing to the cloud and between devices.

Account, Server, and Directory

1. You can only sync reading data to the cloud after logging into your ONYX account.
2. Choose the same account and server to avoid incomplete syncing or mess.
3. Put the same files in the same directory for your devices.

Note:
1. The data on each server is independently stored.
2. If multiple accounts are logged on one device, each user will only see the notes synced to their own accounts.

Auto Syncing

1. To auto-sync all your reading data, do the following:
Home Screen＞Library＞More icon on the upper right corner＞Library Settings＞Turn on Sync Switch

2. To auto-sync one particular document, do the following:
Home Screen＞Library＞Long-press one document＞Sync tab＞Turn on Sync Switch

Note: This setting is not available when the main sync setting is turned off.

Manual Syncing

Sync the Reading Data

To manually sync your reading data, do the following:

1. Open the document in NeoReader.

2. Tap the center area to display the main menu.

3. Tap the Sync button in the upper area.

Note: This setting is not available when the main sync setting or the sync setting for this document is turned off.

Sync the Source File

Since Firmware V4.1, you can now upload a document’s source file and its reading data to the cloud when switching between different BOOX devices.

1. In the Library, long-press a book, and enter the Sync tab.

2. Select the ONYX account you want to sync with, and turn on the Cloud Sync option.

3. Tap "Upload source file" to complete the process.

Note: Make sure each document is 200MB or smaller.

Sync with Third-party Cloud

To sync reading data for files in the integrated third-party cloud storage, do the following:
1. Log in to the same account and choose the same server for your BOOX devices.
2. Open the same files in the integrated third-party cloud storage, and they will be automatically recognized in the same directory on both devices.

Check Reading Data on the Website

You can enter one of our send2boox websites on a browser to view your annotated content. Please remember to log in and select the same server your device uses.

You can also download the BOOX Assistant App on your Android/iOS devices to check data.
