PushRead

PushRead is a built-in app to receive RSS and OPDS subscriptions as well as receiving pushed webpages for you to read later on your BOOX device as a bookmark manager. In this article, you will learn more about the features of PushRead.

Push

Here you can keep the bookmarked webpages for you from the computer to read later on your BOOX device. Please refer to the Transfer with Your Computer and Transfer with Your Smartphone pages for more info.

RSS

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a web feed that allows users and apps to access updates to websites. Here you can add RSS subscriptions and receive updates from public and custom sources.

To add an RSS subscription from built-in public sources, do the following:

Switch to the RSS tab in the PushRead app.
Go to Directory > Add subscription.
Choose a public source and tap Subscribe.

To add an RSS subscription from custom sources, do the following:

Switch to the RSS tab in the PushRead app.
Go to Directory > Add subscription > Custom.
Tap Add Group and type in a group name.
Tap the Add icon on the upper right corner.
Input a source and tap OK.

To add an RSS subscription by importing an OPML file, do the following:

Switch to the RSS tab in the PushRead app.
Tap the hamburger icon on the upper right corner and choose Import from OPML.
Select an OPML file from the storage.

OPDS

OPDS (Open Publication Distribution System) is an open standard meant to facilitate the distribution of publications. OPDS catalogs enable users to browse, search and acquire content in an easy to use and decentralized ecosystem. Here you can add OPDS catalogs and receive updates from custom sources.

To add an OPDS catalog from custom sources, do the following:

Switch to the OPDS tab in the PushRead app.
Go to Directory > Add subscription > Custom.
Tap Add Group and type in a group name.
Tap the Add icon on the upper right corner.
Input a source and tap OK.
