How to update to the latest firmware on my BOOX device?

You can update your BOOX device in two ways:

1. Update from the cloud

  • Connect your BOOX device to Wi-Fi

  • Check for Updates: Go to Settings > System Updates > Check for updates.

  • Download & Install: The device will automatically download and install the latest firmware. Once the update is complete, it will restart automatically.

2. Update locally

  • Ensure Sufficient Power: Connect your BOOX device to a power source or a PC to make sure there is enough power during the update process.

  • Download the Firmware: Download firmware update.upx from the link here.

  • Transfer the Firmware: Copy the firmware file to the root directory of your device’s internal storage.

  • Start the Update: On your device, go to Settings > System Updates > Check for updates.
    Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update. The device will restart automatically when the update is successful.

Attention: Do not mix firmware files between models. Each BOOX device requires a specific firmware package. Using the wrong one may result in system failure or an unbootable device. If you use the wrong firmware, your device may need to be returned to the factory for recovery. Please read all instructions carefully before proceeding with a local update.
