I have had the same issues - and after doing a factory reset my Note Air 2 is stuck on a starting loop. It displays the BOOX logo, goes blank, the BOOX logo reappears, and the sequence repeats. Waiting to hear to see what to do next…

    Dear customer,

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

In this case, please charge the device for a few minutes. After that, please do not remove the power source, and please directly long-press the power button for about 20 seconds and see if it is able to turn on the device.

If still unable to turn on the device, please try to into recovery mode and reboot the system. You can follow the steps in the attached video to enter recovery mode.

Many thanks for your time and understanding.

    Sincerely,
    Derek

Thank you, that helped! In fact it turns out the device wasn't frozen at all, but just needed to be recharged. It showed the last screen I had been using, that's why I thought it was frozen. My mistake!
