Feature request: full-screen mode (no WIFI / time icons)

I would like to request a full-screen mode for 3rd party apps. I want the option to get rid of the time and WIFI icons at the top of the screen.

This is possible with the current firmware, but only in split-screen mode. In the previous firmware, you could switch to split-screen, then exit split-screen, and the display would remain in full-screen mode. However, the current firmware (3.5) got rid of this -- now when I exit split-screen, then device also exits full-screen mode.
