Notes app - highlighting hand written notes can't see writing underneath

I have firmware version 3.5 on Nova Air. (not the color version)

In the notes app when I try and highlight hand written notes with a marker it makes the written words underneath illegible. Even if I choose a color like Lemon for the marker, the writing under the marker is not visible. Only the marker on top is visible.

The workaround is to insert a layer underneath the hand writing and apply the marker in the layer below the hand writing. This is very awkward and makes the marker  unusable for highlighting hand writing.

Highlighting typed text in a text box works as you would expect it to work.

I heard the marker in the Notes app was going to be improved, but I don't see the improvement yet. When is this coming?

  This is such a critical flaw -- hi-liting function in otes like in the PDF reader is an =essential= function.  I literally couldn't believe that this didn't work.  This seems to come up in conversations repeatedly and we really need to identify a single point to raise the flag to Boox.  I'm nominating this one and upvoting and I'll send them here whenever they mention this.  Hopefully enough up-votes will get this some attention.

  Agreed! I bought my box note air 3C especially because I would be able to highlight my text with color, only to find out that without using some inconvenient 'hack', the function is basically unuseable. Come on guys, this thing was wayyyyy to expensive for such an essential feature not to work properly! Even worse: the fix lies purely in software, and after a year of me owning the product it is still not fixed. This for me is the #1 reason for not recommending this product to anyone else.

  Any update on this?  Does anyone know if the 4.0 firmware does this properly?
