Suggestions/issues with 'Tags' in notes in general
I'm using a Note Air 3 (not C), running version 2024-03-20_08-37_3.5.1_30e6f3189.
I love the idea behind the tags in notes and have started to make extensive use of them. This has led to some frustrations around search for tags, and removal/updating tags inside the notes.
These are not issues as much as frustrations and suggestions
* When I select 'tags' for a selected area of notes it always tries to identify the handwriting within the selected area. This causes me several problems. 1. It's extremely rare I'd want to apply a tag based on the identified handwriting, so I'll almost always be replacing the tag that's suggested with something else, and 2. If I just want to tag with an already existing tag, the contents of that box can be forgotten and I then get some really long useless tag. Either way, trying to identify the tag from the contents of the selected area is either useless or results in an action I don't want.
Would be great if you could add an option to the notes app to disable this identification.Personally I never need it and it's a nuisance (at best), or a hinderance
* If I select an already tagged area, I cannot see the tags on that area, as the list underneath shows the 'recent tags' rather than the tags that are _actually_ applied to that area. This has 2 effects - 1. I cannot see what tags _are_ applied to the selected note, and 2. I cannot remove tags unless they happen to have been recently used.
Please prioritise listing the tags on a selected area over the 'recent tags'
* When entering a tag, only the most recent 8 tags are shown. This makes it too easy to inadvertently add similar but not identical tags. For instance, I may have tagged something previously as 'shoppinglist', but (months later) tag another area I mentally see as the same as 'shopping-list'.
Could you allow visibility of more than 8 tags? Maybe scrollable list of tags, ordered by Most recent -> oldest usage. Alternatively show the tags based off the current entry in the edit box (for last example, next time I just have 'shop' in the dialog, and the 'recent tags' shows 'shoppinglist' and 'shopping-list', etc.)
* On searching for a tag, the list shows the tag, page number and note. It would be useful to also show any other tags applied to the returned area. For instance, if I tag based on month/year ('april-2024' for example). When I search for that tag, it would be useful for the return to show
...[tags] april-2024, shoppinglist, blah / Page No. :2 / Location .....
...[tags] april-2024, something-else / Page No. :5 / Location ......
I'd argue that the page number becomes irrelevant anyway as you'd remember the other tags applied more than the page in the notes you were taking at the time

I like your suggestions. I too have some issues with the way tagging is implemented. In my opinion you really don't need to tag sections of page or certain words. Just tag the page as a whole. Then be able to view what tags are assigned to that page. I now tag one word in a sentence with "Task" and another word for the relevant informative tag.
