How to Get Notes Off of the 10.3

Hello, folks. I've had this 10.3 for about a month, and I'm using it to make daily notes. I have notes on it. How do I get the notes out of this device and onto something as a backup? I've read the directions, but as a native speaker of English, I find the directions circular, ambiguous, and unusable. Thanks!
