Onyx Input Method Permissions
Hello,
I have a Go 10.3, I haven’t been able to use the handwriting feature . I an Onyx Input Method Permission Statement pop up when I try to use the handwriting feature from onyx keyboard. It doesn’t matter which app I am using. I clicked Ok and got a second pop up that directed me to onyx keyboard settings. But I am not allowed to change any of them. And the permission controller keeps stopping
Please let me know how I should update the settings for o be able to use this feature. It is the main reason I got this device.

In this case, you can go to Apps > click the hamburger icon on the top right corner > App Management > App Info > click the hamburger icon on the top right corner > Show system > find "ONYX Keyboard" > Permissions > "Microphone" and "Files and media" > select both to "Allow only while using the app". After that, please check if the problem can be fixed.
If the problem persists, please reset the device via Settings > Version > Factory Reset. Resetting the device will delete all data and files on your device. Please backup all important notes and documents before restoring the factory default. After that, please let us know if the problem persists. -

I’m having the same issue. I don’t want to factory reset. What else is there to do to fix this?

Same issue, right after factory reset. Permission manager does not work. The only message I get is that the permission manager keeps stopping. How to use hand writing then? Should I return or replace my device under warranty?

This is 100% a baked in firmware problem I experienced this on a brand new Boox Go Color 7 right out of the box with factory default settings. unable to change permissions on any of the apps to enable voice recording. So far as first impressions go this is not a good one since this basically prevents me from using ANY app that requires anything beyond basic permissions. When you are having problems like this out of the box it should be marked as a critical showstopper issue for the fw team since this will most likely result in a lot of people returning devices especially experienced android users who want to do more with apps

I must say that I followed the suggestion and sent the logs as mentioned above. The support contacted me quite promptly and the problem is now gone. I just needed to enable beta versions.

I am having the same issue.... brand new Boox Go 10.3 and I can't use handwriting or voice input. I have sent logs, but it would be great if support can just post the solution here as this appears to be a known issue

We apologize for the inconvenience.
This issue has been fixed in the firmware 4.0. In this case, you can update the firmware via Settings > Firmware Update on your device. After you update the firmware to the latest version, please check if the problem can be fixed.

Thanks... to get v4 of firmware, you do need to enable beta testing ,correct? My device is already running the latest official release, and v4 is only available in beta
