Link to MS word file not working

I have a note air 4c.

I installed Microsoft Word via the store.

I then made a simple test doc and saved it in the device under documents.

I then made a note and inserted a link to that test doc.

When I tap the link it gives me two options to option the test doc - NeoReader or Word.

 

I tap on Word but nothing happens. It doesn't open up the doc in word as I would like it to.

 

What's wrong? Thank you for your time in advance.

  We apologize for the inconvenience. In this case, you could go to the Apps page > long-press the Word app > check if there is an "Unfreeze" button. If so, that means the Word app is frozen. You could unfreeze the app by clicking the "Unfreeze" button and check if the problem can be fixed. Many thanks for your time and understanding.

  I have the same problem with my note air 4
  I have several doc and docx files on google drive. When I try to open a file on my Onyx boox tablet it doesn't propose me docs but other applications unable to open it. I have then to open Docs and open the file through it...and it works. But it is very difficult for my work, Docs is on my system the application dedicated to open .doc and .docx files !
  On my smartphone everything is ok. Where is the problem ?

   

  I got a Nice answer to my problem: uninstall Docs and reinstall it.

  Fine ! It works.

  When I long press on the document in Drive, I can choose 'Open with'. I can choose Word (or docs) and it opens in Word. When I choose I can choose 'Only this time' or 'Always'.
  
  Maybe this will work?
