Some highlighter colours fade as soon as you go to the next pen tool, Notes App
Note Air4 C - 2025-09_20-02_4.0_43a9adea0
Hello,
There is an issue with colour and highlighting in the Notes App.
Using the highlighter, probably about half the colours especially Black, Red, Green but others too, do not stay that colour. Once you highlight something, say in Red, and then select the next pen tool to continue, the original highlighted colour goes from Red to light red (similar to but even fainter than the Violet or the Grape colour). Green turns to Sky Blue and Black turns to Dark Gray and so on. When one picks the next pen tool, one can see that the device refreshes the colours, not the whole screen. It basically looks like it it goes down one shade on the refresh. Light Gray goes to white, it basically disappears for example.
Notably, this does not happen with all the colours. Chartreuse for example stays green, Navy Blue too and some others.
The colours of Lemon and Orange as well as Violet and Grape are basically the same as far as I can see on the Tablet.
Interestingly, for the colours that fade, if you go over them again and maybe then again with the highlighter tool, they will generally stay the proper colour without fading although, you can see that the colours try to refresh when you press the next pen tool. Basically one is stacking highlights on top of highlights and while it 'works', this can definitely not be the plan.
On a Windows computer through Send2Boox, you can see what the colours should be and of course they are all clearly different and the colours they are supposed to be. It just does not look at all like that on the screen (I am aware e-ink colours are muted and pastel, what I am talking about is something more).
Personally for me, of all the colours that could fade I actually need proper Red and Green colours and was one of reasons I bought the tablet. I cannot be constantly stacking highlights on highlights just to make something Green.
Presumably you will be able to re-produce this or may be you already have a fix. Please let us know.
Thank you.

Dear customer,
We apologize for the inconvenience. It is normal that the color of the store rerenders after refreshing the screen or switching the brush to eraser.
When writing on the page, the stroke you see is the virtual stroke. When you finish writing and switch to a different brush, all the strokes will be refreshed at once and turned into the actual stroke.
Since refreshing the stroke will take some time, there will be latency in writing if refresh the stroke in real-time. The virtual stroke will reduce the latency in writing. Therefore, this is normal instead of a software or hardware issue. In this case, you could open the Notes app > Swipe down from the top right of the screen to bring up the Control Center > E Ink Center > Please try to change the refresh mode to or color mode or click "Reset". After that, please check if it is possible to get the actual and virtual stoke to be similar color.
