Feture Request: Option to leave current screen as standby screen and power off screen
Hi,
I would like to have an option to not change the screen when the device goes into standby screen or power off screen, basically to keep the current screen without modifications (maybe one small icon in a corner to indicate that the device is currently suspended/powered off) when the device should display the standby screen or power off screen.
I often have a page open for very long periods of time and this feature would let me save a lot of power.
Best wishes

Hello,
Thanks for your post.
Our newest firmware allows users to set a transparent screensaver to make it. Please kindly update your device to V2.3.1 and then go to Apps -- Screensaver -- Screensaver style to choose "Transparent Screensaver" to apply. Thank you for your attention.

Hi Michelle
Thank you for the quick response!
I have a NoteP with Android version 6.0.1 and I'm running onyx version 2020-07-23_05-03_2.3.1_6537113.
I went to the screensaver app and I can only see 3 different screensavers there, MM, Letter and Clock, where can I get the transparent one? or do I onlu need to copy a transparent png image to some directory to get it?
Best wishes!

I tried to create one transparent png image with the size 1872×1404px and another that was 1x1px and set them as the screensaver, however when my NoteP goes into power save mode it clears the screen and it just becomes blank.
Where can I get the special "Transparent Screensaver" that you mentioned?
Best wishes!

For my note 2 the transparent screensaver came with version v3.
Imp - You should have four options 1. Image Screensaver 2. Calender Screensaver 3. Clock Screensaver AND 4. Transparent Screensaver. You don't have to fiddle around with transparent pngs.

Hi Franka Butter,
It may be a difference between the models then, I have a NoteP (the first version of Onyx Note but with a glass screen) and it is fully updated. I have searched for updates in eng and in chinese just to make sure (it was a early bug that you could only get new updates if the language was in chinese, this is probably fixed by now but i checked just to make sure).
In my Note there is only the 3 options stated previously.
@Michelle will the "Transparent Screensaver" come to the version one of the Note in a future update?

I have now Updated to 3.0, however the "Transparent Screensaver" is still NOT available, is it possible to download it from somewhere?

Any update on this?
I have the Boox Note Pro and version 3.2.2 and the screensaver app does not have the transparent option.

I have a Max 3 with version 3.2.3 and the transparent screensaver has been available for a few months.
Is it available for you now?

I asked the question from the boox tablet and the answer was that my android version was too old and that the particular android version does not support transparent screensavers.
For now, I went back to printing the pages that I have to pore over for a long time and using my monitor for quickly looking over.
I also set the timeout to high and it drains the battery but I can't be restarting the system or fussing around when reading technical documents. It helps when I'm outside but I stopped using it at my desk.

That's really a problem with Android: You've got a perfectly functioning hardware but because of all those new Android versions, you can't get new features...
Some user on XDA has proposed to install new Android version on the Onyx device (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/time-for-lineageos-on-an-ereader.4084293/). So you could post there, and maybe if there are enough people interested...?
