Frustration with new Poke 3
I have a brand new Poke 3, which just prompted me to update its firmware to v3.1, even though the website doesn't yet show this version available for Poke 3. I allowed it to update itself via WLAN and am now trying to familiarize myself with its operation while reading the user manual on the device.
Unfortunately, I am experiencing numerous problems:
- When I try to increase the font size and reflow the manual, the result is useless because the reflow algorithm fails to respect paragraph breaks.
- When I try instead to make it more readable by using the "embolden" feature, several of the illustrations become corrupted, e.g. the illustration under "Touch settings" in Chapter 6.
- The feature "Turn pages by swipes" was mysteriously deactivated. After closing and reopening the manual, it seems to be working again. I was surprised not to find this option in the system settings under "More Settings" - "Gesture Manager".
- In the "Gesture Manager" I have enabled the Side (Edge) gestures to control volume and lighting and checked the "Show Indicator" checkbox. However, no indicator appears, even when it is clear from the response of the front light that I have succeeded in activating the gesture. Without the indicator it is very hard to tell whether or not the "long press" to activate the control (especially the volume control) has been recognized.
- I have changed the font size in the system settings to "Large", but this appears to have no effect on the display of the User Manual.
- In the system settings under "More Settings" - "System Display", there are two options which do not appear in the manual: "Display characters briefly as you type" and "Enable Only expand the System Bar by pulling down". The first is self-explanatory. What does the second option, "Enable Only expand the System Bar by pulling down", do?
- Item 7 under "System" in the release notes for v3.1 says, "The option is enabled by default and prevents accidental expansion of the System Bar when apps are in full screen." However, I don't find any description or identification of the "System Bar" in the User Manual. Is the "System Bar" the same as the "Status Bar" shown in Chapter 4?
- The option was not enabled on my Poke 3 by default. What is the expected behaviour in this case, i.e., how else might one expand the System Bar?
- The NeoReader does not appear under Apps. Is there a way to open it or its settings, without opening a document?
- According to item 12 under "NeoReader" in the release notes for v3.1, the new version is supposed to "Optimize the Dark Color Enhancement which replaced the Contrast Setting of the old version and Light Color Filter which replaces the removing watermark function.". On my Poke 3, the setting "Watermark bleaching" is still there and there is no "Light Color Filter", although "Dark color enhancement" does appear to have replaced the "Contrast Setting".
- Item 3 under "System" in the release notes for v3.1 describes similar options for "Display Control". However, I don't find any such settings on the Poke 3 or in the User Manual.
Are these problems due to bugs in the new firmware?
If so, is there any way to downgrade the firmware to 3.0?

Why does the support request page insist that I contact the seller? The seller can only exchange the device, not help with software problems. How can I submit software issues to the manufacturer?
