Unable to update Chrome browser app via Google Play

I've enabled Google Play and wanted to download Google Chrome but was unable to do so. Other apps seem to download fine and work with no issues. I did find a Chrome app the Boox App store so I downloaded that and it works. However, I am unable too download any updates to this app via Google Play. Any suggestions?

  Yes, having Chrome would allow teachers, like me, access to Kami extension, which allows us to mark students' work on Google Classroom. I am sure this is one primary function Boox seeks to achieve.
