Severe issues with Firmware 4.0
Device: NoteAir2
I recently upgraded to Firmware 4.0 and since then the NoteAir2 has shown a number of problems:
- It is *much* slower: page refreshes take a second or more.
- Even thumbnails take about a second *each* to show up. This means it can take 10-15seconds to show all thumbnails when selecting a page.
- NeoReader has lost its middle-tap function and no longer shows the index and list of bookmarks or font change options. Initially there was no observable problem with NeoReader. This problem showed up after a few days of use, and restarting the device does not fix this problem.
- When writing the screen appears to refresh on each stroke.
- Battery life is lower by a lot, but I have not yet measured this to be sure of how much of a reduction I now have.
From discussions on Reddit it looks like many others have seen these issues too. My NoteAir2 is quickly becoming unusable.
A simple fix from Boox would be to roll back the firmware update by releasing the previous update once more.

2) Regarding the issue with the thumbnails, this issue will be fixed in the next firmware update. We would highly appreciate it if you could kindly wait for the new firmware update.
3) Regarding the issue with the NeoReader not showing the menu when tapping the center of the page, please try to use your finger or pen to tap on the center of the page.
After that, please check if it is possible to bring up the menu. If so, please click "Gesture" on the top menu and turn on all options. Then, please check if it is possible to fix the problem.
Also, you could try to swipe toward the center of the page from the right or left side of the screen. After that, please check if it is possible to bring up the menu.
4) You can go to the Notes app > Click the hamburger icon on the top right corner > Options > turn off "Automatically refresh strokes after lifting stylus". After that, please check if the problem can be fixed
5) Regarding the issue of the battery draining fast, we suggest setting a time for the device to auto-sleep or auto-power off. You can set the time via "Settings" > "Power" > "Auto Sleep" and "Power-off Timeout". Also, on "Settings" > "Power" > "Auto Sleep" > "WiFi Status After Sleep" > "Stay Connected", please set it to "Immediate". After that, please let us know whether the problem persists. If the problem persists, please submit a request, and our team will help you solve the problem.
