Absent Notebook Toolbars in Notes

If you find that the side toolbar and the top toolbar have disappeared in your Notebooks, do as follows. 

1. Access the "Apps" Info: Since there is no "Notes" icon, the system often has a way to access the settings for the current view.

   • Look at the very top right of the Apps screen

   • There is a magnifying glass icon (Search), followed by a three-dot menu 

   • Tap the three-dot menu icon.

2. Find the App Management Link: This menu should contain a link to the master list of all installed programs, which may be called:

   • Application Manager

   • App Management

   • App Info

Tap whichever option looks like it will show you the full list of apps. This is the single most common hidden entry point for the full Android app list when the Settings menu is simplified.

We need to change the filter at the top of the app list to reveal system apps.

The Final Action: Show System Apps

1. Look at the Top of the App List Just below the All apps" title, you see a drop-down menu that currently says ALL APPS (with a small downward arrow).

2. Change the Filter: Tap the drop-down menu that says ALL APPS.

3. Find the Filter Option: A small menu should pop up. Look for an option to show system apps. This option is often named one of the following:

   • Show System Apps

   • Show Internal Apps

   • Show System Processes

4. Find Notes: After you tap the correct filter option, the entire list will refresh and be much longer. You should now be able to scroll down and find the Notes app (or a similarly named core Boox app, like "System Notes").

5. Clear Data: Once you find the Notes app, tap it, then tap Storage Clear Data.

Now return to the "Notes" app and you will find that the toolbars have been restored. However, your notebooks will also be deleted so you will have to restore them from your Boox backup.
