Feature Suggestion: Quick Preset Highlight Menu
Hello BOOX / NeoReader Team,
Thank you for the excellent reading and annotation features in NeoReader. I’d like to propose a feature enhancement that would make my workflow (and I’m sure many others’) significantly more efficient.
The Idea: When you make a highlight, instead of automatically applying the last colour used (or requiring extra taps to change it later), a small preset menu would pop up right after highlighting. From there, you could tap once to assign one of your predefined highlight “meanings.”
How could it work?
1. Enable mode “Quick highlight colour menu.”
2. You define up to 6 colour presets, each with a colour and label that represents its meaning, e.g.:
-
-
🟡 Yellow — “Assumptions”
-
🔴 Red — “Doubts / Questions”
-
🟣 Purple — “Main Research Question”
-
🟢 Green — “Evidence / Key Result”
-
🔵 Blue — “References”
-
🟠 Orange — “To Follow Up”
-
3. After highlighting, a popup appears with your presets.
4. You tap one color, and the highlight is saved with that color
This would be perfect for research and academic reading where different highlight meanings are used, while keeping the reading flow uninterrupted.
