    1. I don't know what version of Onyx you have, but at least in Nova 2 you can change the name directly from the notepad by clicking the icon next to the name.

    2. That would be extremely annoying, not everyone makes a multiple pages notes, sometimes you only need one page. Besides, it is not supposed to be just a notebook, so why should it go out of it way to resemble one? Especially in the page count matter.

    3. Again, I don't know which version you have, in mine swiping up creates a new page automatically.

I feel like your "very obvious" improvements come either from owning an older device or you just don't fully know how to use it and instead of learning you decide to blame the company

An essential thing about any user interface is that it should be consistent within itself and with other common applications and quite intuitive. Needing to learn it's peculiarities is a flaw.

I have a NoteAir running Android 10 with kernel 4.4 so it's quite new.

You mention "swiping up creates a new page automatically" -- up ?? That makes absolutely no sense. The pages of books are thumbed left and right. Flipping through notes should be the same. Why swipe up when the pages are to the left and to the right ?

The designers of the NoteAir are drawn to novelty and not intuitive function -- the Navigation Ball is a fine example. By default, the Navigation Ball has an arc of secondary buttons -- this is weird and I doubt that Onyx has done any research to determine if this is easier to use than a simple linear form. Novel effects in user interface design should only be adopted after extensive user testing that proves it is easier and more efficient for a user.

I'm sure that Google has an excellent user interface style guide for Android and the Onyx folks are ignoring it.

Needing to learn is a part of every device, that's why instruction exist.

Also, I checked the notes again and swiping left creates a new page too. So you have two options, and one does suit the way you flip pages in a book. Which proves your request meaningless.

I can't speak about NoteAir design as I don't own it, however in Nova 2 it is possible to choose the navigation ball style between fan, horizontal and vertical shape. If your device is more new than old, that option is most probably available to you too. So again, I see no problem.
