Violation of GPL (GPL2 kernel source)

Hello,

I just purchased a BOOX product before noticing that the GPL is being violated (http://bbs.onyx-international.com/t/install-linux-or-alternate-os-and-gpl2-kernel-source/698/33) by not releasing their Linux kernel source code.

Is there an update on this issue or has the source code been uploaded somewhere? If not, please make it available, it is mandatory to do so with GPL2 code. To me this definitely is a dealbreaker. I know that this is a big issue for many users, including myself.

  I don't see the point of requesting it - this (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tivoization) would only happen anyway.

  The only way to ensure access is to buy a pre-rooted device (or something that is using GPLv3, though good luck with that!)
