Feature request: Managing and transfer single note on NATIVE FORMAT
Hello, thank you for reading this post, i want explain something I'm worried about..
I think one of the most important features, still missing on your platform, is the lack of the possibility to transfer single notes to other clouds or (more important) to your pc on native format. I'll explain better.
The ability to create a note, put it aside on pc or and edit it again, is one of the best purprose of an e-note. In this way a student can rework a topic, draw an scheme and return to it after a few months or a years reworking it if necessary. Even in any work environment, programming a project and then being able to modify it without having to start over after few time is a great advantage.
At this point we can grab the entire note, and upload it to the cloud, but I invite you to consider that if the device is actively used the also the 64 giga will runs out quickly, and only 1 giga is available in the cloud.
So, if you want to have some notes in your device (and the space is run out), it becomes necessary to upload the backuped file you want in the cloud, the other you want on the device, and pass the file to the device.
I can assure you that even having more space available in the cloud, this isn't absolutely vanilla-friendly.
I know that we can export file on pdf where we want but this dont make sense, it's useful if we want share the file with other people but we NEED TO BE ABLE also to export and store our note on their NATIVE FORMAT. The ability of edit also old note is the most important reason that justify using a digital device…
I have observed that the "Remarkable brand" has announced that their cloud may become a paid service. They also do not have a method for store notes in original format and this means that for users of the remarkable, if they want to keep a lot of notes then they will have to pay something. Speaking with you from Onyx in the past you told me that you are considering a similar possibility, to extend the cloud with subscriptions in order to have more storable space. But again ... we still need to be able to transfer our files wherever we want in the native format. if the paid cloud will be an extra then ok. But if to transfer files in the native format the alternatives will be only;
- Having to PAY for a space in the cloud.
- Having to jump through hoops between one beckup and another, continuously downloading and reuplading files.
…..well then I don't see much more comfort in using your devices.
Again i want specific that;
■ All this would be completely solvable if you provide us with an application to transfer our files on the pc on their native format, in order to be able to re-upload and modify them again later.
■ If you want to provide us with a paid service to expand the cloud ok, but it must be an alternative, not the only possibility.
I would like to know what your plans are in this regard, other brands already offer this possibility and I am disappointed that I have not seen this feature from you. It seems essential to me and I think many other users think the same way.
NOTE
Someone told me that this is for security reason, but let's not joke, this is a useless excuse.
Having both alternatives means being able to maintain the same level of security and also being able to choose to manage our files in the native format. We should be free to choose, no one forces users to transfer files this way, but it is a fundamental additional option.
Please let me know what you plane to do about it in the futur, are you plannig tho give us this option? Most important note taking app on android and ios have it already.
Thank for you time.
