Is there some plugin system for the book sync?
Hi, I’m a developer. I recently got my first e-ink device, and I’ve always used an EPUB reader that syncs between my Android phone and PC.
However, on BOOX devices, the app is hidden from the Play Store due to the publisher enforcing restrictions related to Play Protect (or something similar). It also detects when the app is installed via ADB.
The good part is that I’ve been using this reader for years, and I already understand how their sync API works. So I started wondering if it would be possible to create a plugin for the BOOX native reader to add third-party cloud sync features—such as importing, exporting, and resuming reading progress across my devices.
After some quick research, it seems this is not currently possible. If that’s indeed the case, please consider this post as a feature request for some kind of hidden advanced option that allows custom scripts (JavaScript or similar), so users could implement their own sync plugins.
Honestly, I doubt this will ever be implemented, so I’ll probably need to write my own reader from scratch or fork an open-source one and modify it. A bit disappointing, but that might be the only way forward.

Dear customer,
The NeoReader supports syncing with third-party clouds. In this case, you could go to Settings > Accounts > Go to Docs Sync Settings > select a 3rd-party cloud storage and log in to your account. After that, you will be able to sync your docs with 3rd-party cloud storage.
