Note Air 2 Auto Rotation Not Working
Hello all,
after booting my Air 2 auto rotation works for a while, but then stops. After this, the orientation can only be changed manually, although the gyro and acceleration sensors are still working (tested with Sensor Test app). So this appears to be a software issue.
Any ideas for a workaround?

I switched on auto-rotate in my experiments prior to reporting the problem.
I submitted a report via Feedback.
Today, also my wife's new Note Air 2 started showing the same symptoms - auto-rotate not working intermittently.

Also, I searched for similar issues on the web, and found a few reports of the same issue - without resolution

The same thing happens to me. After no more than a week use it stopped working. The first time it had mysteriously switched itself to manual rotation. I selected again the automatic one and it worked for 3 or three minutes. Then it stopped, although in the "rotate" window the autorotate option is on.

This is still not fixed and I am seeing this same issue in my new Air 2. Basically it just decides to not respond to rotation whenever it has been idle for a while.

Same issue on Ultra Tab C - is the Boox Service Team working on this, considering it has affected multiple devices for over a year or more? When can we expect a fix? The Boox devices seem great but they are worthless if the basic features don't work correctly.

I have the same issue on my new Tab X. A reboot solved the problem. When the problem shows up again, I will submit a bug report.

It looks like this is an old Android 11 bug. According to this article: https://www.makeuseof.com/auto-rotate-not-working-android/, we shouldn’t hold edges of our screen while rotating the device.
When auto rotation stops working, I set mine Boox Tab Ultra C first in manual portrait orientation and then I enable auto rotation again. I am careful not to rotate the device with my fingers on the edge of the screen. This way I restart Android’s auto rotation service and I skip time consuming reboot process. I hope this helps.
