Text shifting when changing pen/ any other action

I have a NoteAir4C and in the notes app my text will all shift about an inch to the bottom right when I press any button besides writing more. Once it shifts it wont shift again but this makes writing notes next to impossible. How can I fix this? I disabled all hand gestures and I'm on the newest release. My device is only a few months old.
