Bluetooth audio codec support
Hi, I have a Note Air on the way and am currently trying to decide how to use audio on the device.
I have a bluetooth headset that uses the aptX codec that appears to be supported on the Note Air's Qualcomm chipset: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon-636-mobile-platform
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any confirmation of aptX working on any boox device.
There is a report of aptX not working on a Max Lumi: https://help.boox.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360075338112-Bluetooth-Jabra-Headset-Max-Lumi
And I also found a comment on Reddit regarding LDAC (sony codec): https://old.reddit.com/r/Onyx_Boox/comments/jtk2ta/bluetooth_headphones_not_working_with_note_air/
These threads mention using a lower quality codec (probably SBC) which is unfortunate, but probably fine for me if aptX support will come eventually.
It would be great to know that aptX support is coming to devices that support it 🙂.
If there is no plan from Boox to support aptX, I will sadly need to use a wired headset with the Note 🙁.
Will future firmware updates fix the issue with aptX?
Thanks!
