BOOX Pen/Stylus Issues – Unresponsive or Writing Without Touching the Screen
If your BOOX stylus isn’t responding or appears to write without physical contact, the issue likely lies with the pen itself or the tip (nib). Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot:
1. If the Pen Is Completely Unresponsive
Step 1. Test if your BOOX tablet responds to finger touch.
If the tablet works with touch input, the issue is likely with the pen or its tip/nib. Try using a different compatible stylus to see if the issue is with the original pen.
Step 2. Check the device's screen version information.
If the issue persists even after changing the pen, please check the device's screen version and firmware information. Specifically, verify whether the "Capacitive Touch Version" and "Electromagnetic Touch Version" display any abnormalities (such as showing blank or "Unknown").
eReaders: Settings > Under Device Model Name
PC Tablets: Settings > About Device
2. If the Pen Writes Without Touching the Screen
Step 1. Inspect the tip/nib.
Ensure the tip/nib is not bent, dented, or damaged.
Step 2. Replace the tip/nib.
Insert a new, undamaged tip firmly into the pen.
Step 3. Restart your device.
Restart your BOOX device after replacing the tip to ensure proper calibration
If the Issue Persists: if the pen continues to write without touching the screen or remains unresponsive, contact our Support Team for further assistance.
Tips for Prevention: Regularly inspect and replace worn-out tips/nibs. Avoid applying excessive pressure when using the pen.
