How to reset the lock screen password if you forget it?

Warning: You have to log in to your Onyx account before you set your Lock Screen Password. Or you will not be able to reset your Lock Screen Password, and you will not be able to use the device anymore once you forget your password. To protect personal privacy, BOOX is not allowed to help with changing users' passwords. 

If you did log in to your Onyx account, please make sure that your Onyx account is bound to your device. Otherwise, you won't be able to reset the Lock Screen Password either.

Please check the correct steps to reset the password as below: 

1. Please choose the correct server based on the website you bind your BOOX device to. If you use push.boox.com, please go to the Settings > Server and choose "US". If your server is chosen as "Asia", the website would be send2boox.com. 

2. Please make sure that you have logged in Onyx account on your BOOX device before. And log in to your Onyx account before you reset the password.

3. Please go to the Settings/ More Settings/ Set Screen Lock Password. And then click "Reset Password". 

4. Next, a requesting box pops up as below, and click " ok ".

5. The other box pops up as below, and click " ok " as well.

6. The last notification pops up as below, and then check your email or your phone message to click that link to reset the password. Please note that the link is valid for 10 minutes.

After you click that link, you can go back to the Settings/ More Settings/ Set Screen Lock Password to enter your new password. 

If you log in to your Onyx account and try the above process to reset the password, it turns out that it does not work eventually. Please provide us with the invoice from our normal purchase channel (BOOX Shop, Amazon, and eBay) to confirm first, and then we might need to rebind your Onyx account. If you purchased the device from our distributors, you may need to contact the seller directly for the solutions. 

For devices running Android 11 or later:
If you forget your password and cannot log in, removing the password is not possible. In this case, the only way to unlock your device is by performing a factory reset, which will erase all your data.

Tip: Always back up your data and store your password securely to avoid data loss.
