I am having the same problem in select apps, including Kindle and Kobo. It began immediately after the update. I have restarted apps and device, I have change settings back and forth, etc. Cannot get it to work.

I am having the the same issue but on my Boox Page. I can only get one of the side buttons to work within certain apps, including Kindle when it comes to page turning, along with ShonenJump and Webtoon when it comes to scrolling. Weirdly, both side buttons work for scrolling within the Neo Browser as well as Neo Reader for page turns, so it seems to only be the third-party apps.

Dear customer,
We apologize for the inconvenience. This issue has been fixed in the new firmware. The new firmware for Go Color 7 and Page is currently under testing. In this case, we suggest applying for the beta test via Settings > Firmware Update > Apply for Beta test. Once the new firmware is stable, we will release it as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your patience and understanding!

I am having the same problem on a new Palma 2. It states that the firmware is updated. Long press works to bring up the e-ink center but short press will not turn pages. I have attempted the self-help action above (switching the function of the smart button, then switching it back) and I still cannot turn pages in Kindle.
This is the main app I use and the only function I want the smart button to do.
Is there a fix in process for the Palma 2?!?

Hi. As asked, I have reproduced the issue and submitted it via feedback along with the logs. I hope you are able to get back to me ASAP.
One of the main reasons I chose the device was having a page turn button and if it isn’t going to work I am going to want to return the device. Thanks.0 -
I am having the same problem in Go g2 with the Kobo app. I have NEVER been able to make the physical buttons change pages. I have set the buttons to ‘page turn’ in every app that is listed.
I am on the latest FW (downloaded 21Jun25)
1. did a full factory reset
2. installed the Kobo app
3. switched to Page Turn in Settings
4. attempted to use buttons in Kobo -> volume up/down
5. set to Scroll in settings
6. Attempted to use buttons in Kobo -> volume up/down
7. Set to Page-turn in settings
8. Attempted to use buttons in Kobo -> volume up/downLegitimate question to frustrated users who are looking for solutions to Go page turn buttons:
Do you use your e-ink device primarily to read books or listen to music?
Should Boox default the software for the physical buttons to page turn?0 -
Hi Scott,
We apologize for the inconvenience.
It is possible to use the side buttons to turn pages in the Kobo app. In this case, you can open a book on the Kobo app and tap on the center of the page.

Click the "Aa" button.

Swipe up on the settings page and find the "Page using volume keys" option and turn it on.

Then, long-press the Kobo app to bring up the options, then tap "Optimize". Then, in "Others", under "Custom Side Buttons", select "Volume".

Or you can go to Settings > Smart Buttons Settings > Short-press Function > find Kobo app > select "Volume". After that, please check if it is possible to fix the problem.
