I am experiencing the same problem i two of my three recently purchased Onyx Boox 7 color. It gets stuck at Tablet is starting... for an eternity. I have tried to reboot several times by pressing the On button for 20 sec, but it gets stuck in the same place. So, how do I go to Settings > Firmware update, it I cannot get into the device? Both devices are fully charged - no problem there

    Hi Maria,

We apologize for the inconvenience. In this case, please charge the device with a 5V/3A charger for a few minutes. After that, please do not remove the power source, and please directly long-press the power button for about 20 seconds and see if it is able to turn on the device.

If still unable to turn on the device, you can try to follow the steps in the video below to enter recovery mode.

Then, you can try to swipe down on the empty area to select "Wipe data/factory reset". After that, you could press the power button to reset the device. Please check if the problem can be fixed.

If the problem persists, we would appreciate it if you could kindly take a video of charging the device and long-pressing the power button for 20 seconds. Then, please send us the video by submitting a request via the link below:

This would be helpful for us to address the issue. Thank you very much for your effort and understanding!

I'm having the same issue and got the same copy/paste response from support that did not bother to understand that the OS won't even load. How can I get to "settings>update" if I can't get it to boot. I've already tried all the recovery options, including reboot, "wipe data/factory reset" and it says E:Open failed / metadata/ota: No such file or directory. Then it formats and says data wipe is complete. But it does the same rebooting issue. If I try reinstalling an "update" from the SD card, it says the update is older than the current build (the one that it says is missing). This is absolutely ridiculous. It is less than a year old and seems fishy that everyone's Go 7s are suddenly bricking with the recent update. As if I'm going to turn around and buy the II to replace it... I almost bought a 10... if this doesn't get a fix I'm done with Boox.
