Are the BOOX eReaders certified by Google Play?
BOOX devices support Google Play, but whether activation is needed depends on the device model and production time.
1. For Currently Sold Models
Most new BOOX models now come with Google Play Services and the Play Store pre-installed and activated out of the box. You can use Google services right after setup—no manual activation or certification is required.
2. For Earlier Models
If you’re using an earlier BOOX model and find that Google Play is not working properly, you may need to manually activate Google Play Services. You can follow the steps in this official guide: How to activate Google Play.
Please restart your device after 6–24 hours once you complete the activation process.
